Following on from my previous post which highlighted the vast majority of global firms falling short of 'adequate cyber-readiness', the finance sector has now made a clear indication that they see raising awareness and changing the mentalities of employees as a priority when it comes to security.
Interestingly, this is the first step I sighted when it comes to improving cyber security.
It would be interesting to hear peoples thoughts on which sectors have the best approach when it comes to cyber security? Obviously, finance is one of the most heavily regulated industries, and has been for some time. Does this mean they're more prepared than others? Or is that a very sweeping statement?
My assumption would be yes, they are more equipped by comparison than other sectors, but you know what they say about assumptions: "they make an ass out of you and me".
Finance sector chief information security officers (CISOs) worldwide have identified employee training and reporting to boards quarterly as essential to improving cyber security practices.
