One of my biggest frustrations as a recruiter is getting candidates to understand that they can be the best person for the job they are interviewing for by a country mile, but if they arrive late for their interview, or decide not to wear a tie or polish their shoes, they are not getting the job!

It is equally important as a recruiter to recognise the importance of getting the basics right and not be afraid to highlight these areas when prepping your candidates for interview.

You only get one chance to make a first impression, make sure you get it right.
