In the Salesforce market it seems that at least bi-monthly there are changes to the eco-system, bearing in mind the news last week that yet another GSI (IBM) snapped up a smaller independent consultancy (Bluewolf) to leverage market share.
I thought the article below was particularly interesting as you witness Appirio's CEO Chris Barbin using this news as leverage to add some kudos and gravity to the direction that Appirio are moving in.
This is a shrewd move to safely distance themselves away from being a GSIs new buddy not only will this impact the current client base but it could help with the growth of those fed up of GSIs and want some stability with a partner who is here to stay.
Bluewolf certainly won't be the last to do this either. Who do you think will be next?
Will Appirio follow suit in pursuing a sale? Appirio is one of the last cloud consultancies that can implement a portfolio of the leading cloud technologies such as Salesforce, Workday, Google and Amazon in the enterprise, without all the baggage of the GSIs. We are purely focused on next generation public cloud technologies and solutions, are not saddled with legacy relationships such as Oracle and SAP, and have no intention of stopping, slowing down, or following the path of recently acquired independent shops. Our “indie” status allows us to be customer-centric, nimble, and provide incredible time to value with actionable strategies that show results in days and weeks and months, not years or decades.
