IBM IX made a huge play this morning with the intent to acquire Bluewolf at the end of Q2. IBM have been making noises in the industry that they are looking to grow out their Salesforce practice and here it is... Play Number 1. It would also seem that they are running a similar play to Deloitte Digital and looking to grow the practice under a separate business.
This is possibly to give the business a sense of autonomy and to move away from some stigma of the IBM brand.
One to watch this year...
At IBM iX, we are deeply committed to helping clients reinvent customer and employee engagement, which is why we are excited to announce that IBM has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Bluewolf, a New York-based consulting agency. Bluewolf is a Salesforce Global Strategic Partner with operations in 5 countries. The acquisition is anticipated to close this quarter, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions and applicable regulatory reviews. Salesforce is a strong choice among clients looking for cloud-based CRM solutions, making the Bluewolf acquisition a natural extension of our focus on holistic customer experiences. When the acquisition closes, IBM iX and Bluewolf will be uniquely capable of creating differentiated experiences, enabling greater agility and continuous innovation throughout organizations.
